Vehicle owners in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah can enjoy free parking during the Eid holidays, authorities have made the announcements. The Eid Al Adha holiday is from Thursday, July 30, to Sunday, August 2.

>Abu Dhabi: Surface public parking bays will be free to use. The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi urged the public to follow the Mawaqif regulations and not to park their vehicles in prohibited areas or park in such a way that block the traffic movement. Motorists have also been reminded to follow the Mawaqif regulations regarding resident parking rules from 9pm to 8am to avoid being fined.

The fine for parking in residents-only parking spaces is Aed 200 and the car will be towed away four hours after issuing the fine ticket.

>Dubai: Parking will be free in all public parking areas in Dubai except for multi-level parking terminals. The parking fees will be reactivated on Monday, August 3.

>Sharjah: Motorists in Sharjah will be able to enjoy free parking in most areas. Areas where parking won't be free are Al Hisn Street (bank complex) in Al Shuwaiheen and Al Shoyoukh areas; Corniche street (both sides); Qays Ibn Abi Sa'sa'ah street; Central Souq parking spaces; Corniche street (Khalid Lagoon side) and University City Road.

Public transport timings

According to the ITC, public bus services timings in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain City and Al Dhafra Region will follow the schedule that's in effect on Fridays. These services will operate until 1.30am: 5, 7, 8, 22, 67, 102, 401, 900, 940, 950, 960, 970, 980 and 990.

>Dubai Metro

-Red Line: On Thursday from 5am to 1am; on Friday from 10am to 1am; and from Saturday to Monday from 5am to 12 midnight

- Green line: On Thursday from 5.30am to 1am; on Friday from 10am to 1am; and from Saturday to Monday from 5.30am to 12 midnight.

>Dubai Tram: On Thursday from 6am to 1am; on Friday from 9am to 1am; and from Saturday to Monday from 6am to 1am
