Change of age restrictions for parent's sponsorship are announced as a part of series of reforms announced with respect to the entry and residency visa schemes of UAE.

Parents across the UAE who are sponsoring their sons are relieved by the new visa rules which now allows them to sponsor their sons till they are 25.

Yesterday's announcement from the UAE Cabinet is the biggest reform with regards to the entry and residency visa scheme of the country. Parents got very relief with this news and are grateful to the country's leaders.

Previous law allowed that they could only sponsor their sons until the age of 18 which was very difficult for the parents emotionally and financially.

People who has been studying in the Emirates needed to take a yearly residency visa.

"This new legislation will be a big weight off the familiesshoulders. The son's visa sponsorship worries are now over for majority of the expatriates and will make many challenges easier. Currently expats are able to keep the daughter under their sponsorship and visit visas were required for the sons who are over 18 years.

"It will be now easier to travel when the children have residence visas in Dubai. The changes in rules is surely a game changer for the parents"

The visa-renewal was an issue if the boy is over 18. Earlier students in school were able to file a request on humanitarian grounds and receive the approvals from immigration for the renewal. For parents with boys, this news is a great relief.

The Cabinet announced a series of visa reforms ranging from a five-year Green Visa to introducing new categories under the 10-year Golden Visa.

The new system provides more benefits to family members, allowing expats to issue residence permits for their loved ones easily. Children of determination are granted a residence permit, regardless of their age.

Green Residence visa holders can issue residence permits for their first-degree relatives. In all cases, the residency of family members shall be the validity duration of the original residence holder.
