Fines of up to Aed 700 have been set for violations.

For delivery drivers, a speed limit of 100 km / h has been set in Dubai in accordance with the new guidelines of the Dubai's Road and Traffic Authority (RTA). The riders must not use the left lane of the road and they shouldn't use backpacks for deliveries. You are also not allowed to take another rider with you on the bike. The guidelines are outlined in a comprehensive guide to managing delivery services in Dubai.

Fines of up to 700 dirhams have been set. in the event of violations, whereby a third repetition of the violation leads to the withdrawal of approved permit. Further rules include the obligation to wear a certified protective helmet and the use of authorized parking spaces to park motorcycles.

A good conduct certificate issued by Dubai Police is also required for the rider. The driver must be at least 21 years old and not older than 55 years. The motorcycles using for the food-delivery service must not be more than four years old from the manufacture date.

Food Safety

Food should be stored in such a way as to avoid contamination from insects, dust, fumes, sunlight, rain or other factors during delivery.

External and internal parts of the box and areas that will be touched by hands should be cleaned and thoroughly disinfected with cleaning agents and disinfectants approved by Dubai Municipality before food is loaded.

Food must be delivered in suitable thermal preservation equipment to ensure continuous temperature control and the maintenance of food quality.

The manual that was developed in coordination with the Dubai Police and Municipality, includes all commercial trading establishments and companies that provide delivery services. This includes the delivery of food, goods and equipment.

Delivery service companies and their motorcyclists must strictly adhere to the guidelines "for the safety of drivers, road users and the food or materials to be delivered," said the RTA.
