Entry to the Saudi Arabia started from 1 am on Sunday May 30, 2021. The travel ban will continue from nine countries, including India.

Out of the 20 countries currently under travel ban in Saudi Arabia, 11 countries, including the UAE, have been allowed entry into Saudi Arabia. Admission was allowed from May 30, Sunday. The announcement was made by the Home Ministry.

One week institutional quarantine is mandatory for those entering Saudi Arabia from these countries. In addition to the UAE, Germany, the United States, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Switzerland, France and Japan are among the countries which has been removed from travel bans.

The reason for lifting the ban is the low rate of covid spread in these countries. The ban will continue from nine countries, including India, where an earlier travel ban is in place. However, the lifting of the ban from the UAE will be a boon to thousands of Indian expatriates, including Malayalees.

Currently, there is a travel ban from India to the UAE. So Saudi expats will not be able to travel through the UAE immediately. The travel ban from India has been extended until June 30 as per the latest circular Emirates Airlines. Earlier the UAE ambassador to India had announced that the travel ban from India would be lifted from June 14.. The ambassador said the final decision would be taken after assessing the spread of Covid-19 in India.

At the time of lifting UAE ban, Saudi expats will be able to come through the UAE and can travel to Saudi Arabia after completing a 14-day quarantine. Those who complete two doses of the Covid vaccine will be exempted from the Institutional Quarantine in Saudi Arabia.
