Pre-travel required Covid-19 test report from four medical laboratories in India will no longer accepted by authorities in Dubai, according to the diplomatic sources and India's national carrier.

The below RT-PCR testing laboratories are the non-approved laboratories. 

  1. Suryam Lab in Jaipur
  2. Microhealth Labs in Kerala
  3. Dr P Bhasin Pathlabs Ltd in Delhi
  4. Noble Diagnostic Centre in Delhi.

Negative test result certificates from the above Indian Council of Medical Research-approved centres shall be considered invalid, Air India Express announcement stated on Monday.

Passengers who are travelling to Dubai are requested to obtain pre-travel RT-PCR reports  and certificate from Pure Health-approved laboratories, the Indian national airline said in its updated new blog post.

Neeraj Agarwal, consul for Press, information, and culture at the Consulate General of India office in Dubai, has said: "I can confirm that this report is true. However, passengers wishing to fly from India to Dubai can bring the test report from all other ICMR-approved facilities, except the four labs that have been listed by Dubai authorities."

A similarly notice has also been issued by the Flydubai, the UAE airline informing its passengers travelling in from India to Dubai. The news on Khaleejtimes.com qouted.

Passenger Categories allowed to Travel from India to UAE:

  1. UAE Nationals
  2. Resident Permit Holder having a stamped residence visa in the passport returning to UAE only.
  3. Indian Nationals with any Valid Visa issued by UAE and travelling to Dubai & Sharjah only.

For Passengers Travelling to UAE

For all passengers 12 years old and above, a valid Negative COVID – 19 RT-PCR test report in the printed form, from a government-approved laboratory in India (ICMR) or a Certified  designated laboratory which is available on screening.purehealth.ae website is required. Passengers are required to take a COVID-19 RT-PCR test not more than 96 hours before departure. The 96-hour time frame for accepting the COVID-19 RT-PCR test starts from the date of sample/ swab collection.

Passengers who have moderate or severe disability are exempted from COVID – 19 RT-PCR test for travel to Dubai and Abu Dhabi. 

For passengers travelling to Sharjah, a Virtual Notification received through SMS or through ALHOSN Mobile Smart App is also acceptable.

For passengers travelling to Dubai, the COVID-19 RT-PCR negative test report must have the name and contact details of the providing laboratory/ health institute. The report must be in English or translated to English and must be signed and stamped by a Healthcare provider. Damaged reports will not be accepted.

Health Declaration Form and Quarantine Undertaking form must be filled and submitted at the airport on arrival

Dubai: Downloaded DXB Smart App is required on arrival at the airport.

Abu Dhabi and Sharjah:  Downloaded ALHOSN Mobile Smart App is required on arrival at the airport.

For Resident Permit Holders Returning to UAE –  The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship has made it MANDATORY for Resident Permit Holders returning to UAE to upload their data on the uaeentry.ica.gov.ae to verify the authenticity of travel documents. If you get a message in Green that you can proceed with the completion of your travel procedures; only then you will be allowed to travel.

If you hold a Dubai residence visa and you are flying back to Dubai, you must have return approval from the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA). Other emirates residence visa holders travelling to Dubai require no ICA approval on the condition that they get ‘OK TO BOARD’ status.

As per latest instructions received from Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, effective forthwith, only passengers holding valid residence visa are allowed to travel to Abu Dhabi. Entry of all other visa types are suspended.

Due to the institutional quarantine regulations, unaccompanied minors will not be accepted for travel to Abu Dhabi.

Air India Express Requirement

API Approval: In the event, a passenger who is required to have the API (Advanced Passenger Information) approval for travel and has not received it and thereby, is unable to travel, the passenger will be offered a free date change in the next available flight. Fare difference, if any, may be applicable. The API approval is not required for flying in the Flydubai flight. Please check with the airline regarding this before booking your tickets. API approval may be required if your visa is stamped in an expired passport and you are now travelling with the new passport.

For Indians with Tourist Visa of UAE and travelling to UAE (Dubai & Sharjah)- Passport and related documents accepted for entry must have a minimum 6 month validity from the arrival date. We recommend you purchase travel insurance that includes health coverage before your trip.

Sharjah : All tourists and visitors is required to have a mandatory international health insurance.
