The officials in the UAE have noticed that an increase in the number of Covid-19 rules violations on precautionary measures and safety measures, a top official has stated.

The individuals who are not committing and following to the safety measures issued by the authorities will get fines and even imprisonment, the official warned. Repeating violators will have to face a six-month jail prison term and/or a minimum fine of Dh100,000.

Salem Al Zaabi, acting chief of prosecution of the Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee at the Federal Public Prosecution, reiterated that gatherings remain prohibitted at all places in the country including homes, offices, ranches or malls.
Family visits should be limited to first-degree family members only, he said. "Since the public prosecution is keen on preserving the gains made so far, the list of fines and penalties - as announced earlier - remains in force," he said.
