Vehicle owners can now park their vehicles in the three emirates for free during the three-day commemoration and UAE national day holiday period.

Abu Dhabi

The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi has announced that all public parking areas across Abu Dhabi will be free to use without charges to mark Commemoration Day and the country’s 49th National Day.

Motorists in the Abu Dhabi emirate can park their vehicles for free during the holiday period, starting Tuesday, December 1, 2020, until Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 7:59 am.

ITC requested the public to not to park vehicles in prohibited areas and also do not block the traffic flow. It also urged upon the public to follow to the rules regarding the resident permit parking bays from 9pm to 8am which means the vehicles should not park in the residential marked areas if you don't have a residence permit.

Public buses and ferry services across Abu Dhabi emirate will operate as per the same schedule of Fridays and official holidays. At the same time, remote working of Customer’s Happiness Centres will resume after the holidays on Sunday, December 6, 2020.

Dubai

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) also announced on Sunday that all public parking spaces in Dubai, except for multi-level parking terminals, will be free for motorists during the holiday from Dec 1 to Dec 3, 2020.

Sharjah

Sharjah City Municipality (SCM) has also announced on Sunday about the free public parking across the Sharjah emirate on the holidays of Commemoration Day and the 49th National Day.

Motorists can park for free their vehicles from December 1, 2020 until December 3, 2020. Normal parking charges will resume from December 5, 2020.

This decision, however, excludes parking zones that are subject to parking fees, on all days of the week, inclusive of Fridays and public holidays.

The motorists should note that the parking inspectors will continue to inspect the parking lots to detect any parking misuse like incorrect parking, blocking the entrance, etc and will put fine for such offences.
