UAE Emirates ID
The new rule from the Emirates Identity Authority states that the expenses for taking Emirates ID should be paid by the sponsor for an expatriate employee. The new rule makes sponsors to bear the expenses of national ID cards including typing expenses for their expatriate employees. This process was initially followed by some of the big companies in UAE.

The expatriate employees comprising millions in the country can save the expenses for Emirates ID of over Dh200 for ID card renewal every two years. National ID cards are now issued as a part of the UAE residence visa processing and these costs are to be paid by the sponsors as per the existing laws. The ID card and residence visa processing is now linked across the country and ID cards has become an integral part of the residence visa.

Al Khoury - The director general of Emirates ID explained that since applying and renewing a residence visa for an expatriate employee is the responsibility of the sponsor, the ID card renewal cannot be separated.
The expatriates welcomed this move and are happy. Now all the expenses of bringing an expatriate employee to the UAE and arranging all mandatory documents are the responsibility of the employee’s sponsor.

The millions of expatriate employees in the UAE will able to save the cost of over Dh200 for ID card renewal every two years as per the new rule from the Emirates Identity Authority (Emirates ID). Now sponsors must pay the expenses of national ID cards including typing charges for their expatriate employees.
